ABOUT US

The GCABC is dedicated to the Ghanaian community servicing British Columbia and beyond.  Our team and the community at large participates in providing cultural experiences for our youth which brings us together as Ghanaians.

Meet our Board of Executives

Mandates

  1. Promote and protect the interests of Ghanaian-Canadians in British Columbia;
  2. educate ourselves, the youth and the Canadian public about the history, heritage and current affairs of both Ghana and Canada;
  3. provide a forum for activities and events, such as dance, music, food. storytelling, festivals, cultural expos, etc., that will promote cultural awareness as well as culture exchange between people of African descent and all Canadians;
  4. undertake and/or sponsor programmes and activities that allow British Columbians to learn about Ghana and its rich culture and traditions.

Mission Statement

To teach, learn, and showcase the history, cultural heritage, and current affairs of Ghana and British Columbia to all residents of the Province of BC.

Vision Statement

Building, sustaining, and promoting a vibrant, cohesive, and inclusive community, while forging intercultural understanding and solidarity between the GCABC and other communities through arts and culture.
